The webinar which will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 is open to internal and external participants via the Zoom platform and YouTube live streaming. This KSP episode is suitable for participants who want to increase their basic knowledge about the concept of Data Science.
The data is interesting to process. Especially in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0, we may often hear the term Internet of Things (IoT). Even in 2020 around April there was an increase in the user population from 7.77 billion, almost 50% used digital products. Data also plays a very important role. Almost all data is uploaded to the internet. All data exchange is an opportunity for us to learn about this.
"This data is a new type of wealth. Currently data is new oil, it is even more valuable than oil. Valid data is one of the keys to development," said Jokowi during the declaration of the 2020 population census at the State Palace, Jakarta, Friday, January 24. 2020. So, this data is valuable but it will not mean anything if we do not turn it into something valuable. "If we want to look for the data, we have to analyze the strengths first, this is where we can learn. The problem is how we see this data as a new resource, ”said Pak Joan
Mr. Joan also shared about his work experience when implementing data science. The biggest challenge is culture. Why is that ? Whether people can accept new things or not. "If people are comfortable with the old system, then they will most likely reject the new system," said Pak Joan. Besides that, the obstacles faced are that most people who apply big data, but do not know how to implement it.
The webinar was then followed by a question and answer session between the participants and the resource persons. One of the participants asked whether he could get a promising income if he worked in the field of data science. Statements from the resource persons lecturers which are finally proven by the speakers themselves. He said "If you use the knowledge that I teach you while working, don't be surprised if you get a big income". The informant also added that the more active you work, the more income you will get.
At the end of the event, the webinar was then closed with a group photo and attendance for participants who had taken part in the webinar
