Yesterday JCI & Rupiah Collapsed in the Capital City PSBB, Today?

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The DPR Budget Agency (Banggar) seems to be furious with the plan of DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan to implement large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) starting Monday (14/9/2020).

Chairman of Banggar Said Abdullah regretted the statement made by DKI Governor Anies Baswedan for being considered quite dramatic which had caused the JCI to drop.

"Yesterday's incident is very regrettable due to the dramatic, dramatic statement by the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan, which caused unnecessary things and burned Rp. 300 trillion of our shares fell. If the corporation is destroyed then retail will be destroyed, this is a tough challenge for the OJK [Authority. Financial Services] and BI [Bank Indonesia], "said Said in opening the Banggar meeting with the Government, Friday (11/9/2020).

As is known, the Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) on Thursday's trading (10/9/20) lay in the red zone after 5.01% subsided to the level of 4,891.46 after trading was stopped by the stock exchange because it fell more than 5%.

The capitalization value was recorded to have eroded to Rp 297.26 trillion from the capitalization value of Rp 5,978.17 trillion on Wednesday (9/9/2020), to Rp 5,680.91.

Previously, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan decided to pull the emergency brake to prevent the spread of the Corona virus (COVID-19) from becoming more massive. Anies decided to re-impose large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) like the beginning of the Corona pandemic in Indonesia.

"We are forced to re-implement large-scale social restrictions like in the early days of the pandemic, no longer the transition period, but the initial PSBB," Anies said in a video broadcast by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, Thursday (9/9/2020).

According to him, the return of the PSBB to its early stages was because Jakarta's condition was already alarming. This emergency brake comes into effect on 14 September.

"We convey this evening as a square off, starting Monday, September 14, non-essential office activities are required to carry out work from home, not stop business activities but work in offices that are eliminated, business activities continue, but office activities in buildings that are not allowed, "he said.
