A side effect of fainting after the Covid-19 vaccine was found in Central Java. Besides that, there is also nausea, red eyes, and swelling.

This was revealed by the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo after a vaccination evaluation meeting on Wednesday (20/1/2021).

"Symptoms in the city of Semarang have fainted, some have red eyes, some are swollen, and nauseous, all are healthy. In Semarang Regency there are nausea, rashes on injection. In Surakarta, arm pain, nausea, vomiting, some are sick. This language is good, semrepet. During the injection process, there is indeed time to wait 30 minutes after the vaccine enters the body so that you can see the presence or absence of symptoms. Head of the Central Java Health Service, Yulianto Prabowo, explained that one health worker who fainted after vaccination had been immediately handled and conscious.

Like a ceremony child in the middle of that (fainting), but once we take care of him, he gives him a drink. It could also be because of tension, "Yulianto explained.

Meanwhile, the National Commission for Post-Immunization Associations (KOMNAS KIPI) reported that up to Wednesday (20/1) there had been 30 KIPI reports. All of these reports are mild and have no serious reactions that require intensive care.

"From the KIPI reports that have been submitted to us, all are light and in accordance with those reported in journals, and in other places, all are in good health. So, no one needs special attention to date," said the Chairman of Komnas KIPI, Prof. DR Dr. Hindra Irawan Satari, Sp.A (K), M. TropPaed, in his statement.

Hindra added that there is no need to worry about the effects of vaccination. He also explained that each health facility administering vaccination is required to record and report AEFIs that occur.

For KIPI reporting, this is done in stages. Starting from public reports to puskesmas, District / City level Health Offices to the provincial level to Komnas KIPI.

Hindra said that this report could be in any time period. Up to four years will still be associated with vaccination.

"The most reports are the incidence of coincidence or anything related to vaccines, regardless of the time period, either one day after vaccination or one month after vaccination, or four years after that, it is still associated with vaccination," he said.
