Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) emphasized that the current government not only wants to get out of the crisis but also take a big leap after the crisis.
This was stated by Jokowi during the inauguration of the opening of the III National Coordination Meeting of the 2021 Islamic Student Association (KAHMI) Alumni which was broadcast virtually, Friday (15/1/2021).
"Of course we not only want to get out of the crisis, but we want to make many leaps even in crisis conditions," said Jokowi.
In the last 10 months, Jokowi said that the government had made every effort to keep trying to overcome the pandemic with various extra ordinary steps. Starting from health problems, to providing protection to vulnerable groups.
"And provide support for MSMEs and the business world to be able to survive, no layoffs, and be able to move back," he said.
The government, according to Jokowi, is starting to improve the national economic ecosystem through the Job Creation Law, bureaucratic reform, and legal certainty through strengthening development financing.
"Among other things, the establishment of the Indonesia Investment Authority. This is a Sovereign Wealth Fund, which all countries have and we have just recently had this," he said.
Through these various efforts, Jokowi hopes that job creation opportunities for the community can be carried out. In addition, business opportunities can also flourish in Indonesia.
"And UMKM can be upgraded and poverty can be alleviated and we can increase equitable development," he said.
