Grab Collaborates with Kemenkop to Encourage MSMEs to Go Digital

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia - Grab is working with the Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenkop UKM) to support the expansion of digitalization and economic opportunities for millions of MSMEs in Indonesia, especially those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

This partnership is a continuation of the #TerusUsaha program by providing digital-based training and coaching to Indonesian MSMEs. The goal is for MSMEs to develop and be able to compete in the growing Indonesian digital economy ecosystem.

It is projected that this collaboration can reach more than 400,000 MSMEs by the end of 2020.

"By collaborating with the Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises, Grab will provide access to digital expansion and support for wider economic opportunities to millions of traditional MSMEs in Indonesia so that they can continue to survive," said Neneng based on an official statement, Jakarta, last week.

Managing Director of Grab Indonesia Neneng Goenadi said that his party is fully committed to helping the government in supporting the sustainability of the MSME business in Indonesia.

Meanwhile, Minister of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises of the Republic of Indonesia Teten Masduki said the role of private parties such as Grab is very much needed in order to help ensure the sustainability of the MSME business, which of course has implications for Indonesia's economic turnaround.

"We really appreciate the efforts made by Grab Indonesia in supporting the acceleration of the digital transformation of MSMEs. We hope this can also be a stepping stone so that they can adapt and develop in the digital economy era," said Teten.

In order to realize the development of digital-based MSME development and Indonesia's economic resources, the collaboration between Grab and Kemenkop UKM includes:

Provide training to improve MSME skills
Registering MSMEs in the digital ecosystem to accelerate the digital transformation of business actors
Bridging MSME players to create expansion of cooperation in developing business
Promotional support in various Grab Indonesia activities.
