Bill Gates reveals the difference between Elon Musk and Steve Jobs

Jakarta - As co-founder of Microsoft, Bill Gates has the opportunity to work with important figures in the technology universe, including Apple co-founder Steve Jobs.

In an interview with Bloomberg, Gates was asked if Elon Musk could become the 'next Steve Jobs', because of his success in building companies like Tesla and SpaceX. According to Gates, there are a number of differences between the way Musk works and Jobs.

"Elon is more like a very active technician. Steve is a genius in design and choosing people and marketing," said Gates, as quoted by detikINET from CNBC, Monday (21/09/2020).

"You're not going to go into a room and be mistaken for each other," he continued.

Gates' description is quite accurate. Musk has shown several times that he is someone who has a busy work schedule and is very active in taking care of his company in person.

For example in 2017, Musk said that he spent every day at a Tesla battery production plant, even sleeping on the floor and not showering, to catch up with the production of the Tesla Model 3.

Meanwhile, Jobs is known as a person who is good at persuading. Like when Apple CEO Tim Cook was invited by Jobs to join his company. At first Cook was a little hesitant, but soon he was tempted and finally decided to join Apple.

But Gates' relationship with the two is somewhat complicated. In recent months, Gates' relationship with Musk has worsened because of the comments made by the two.

Gates had criticized Musk after the 49-year-old man called the lockdown policy in California to suppress the spread of fascist COVID-19. Musk also recently ridiculed Gates as clueless about electric trucks after Gates wrote a blog about electric vehicles.
