Experts Remind Cheap Google Drive Scams in App Stores

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia - Vaccine.com cybersecurity observer, Alfons Tanujaya, reminds users to be aware of the low price offer on Google Drive capacity. This statement was delivered in response to the emergence of Google Drive capacity in e-commerce.

He explained that Google Drive capacity is sold very cheaply because it uses Google Team Drive. Unlike Google Drive, Google Team Drive can be used together to store files.

Google Team Drive can be shared with limited users within an organization, such as an educational institution, for free. Therefore, said Alfons, Google Team Drive can be sold at low prices.

The terms of using Google Team Drive are regulated in a regulation called the Term of Services (TOS). The regulation explains that Google Team Drive is only used in that educational environment.

"It is only used for the educational institution concerned and it is certain that it should not be given to parties outside educational institutions, let alone sold in online stores," Alfons said as reported by Vaksin.com.

He continued, if someone offers unlimited cloud for life and don't trust it, because the risk is that valuable data will be lost when accounts that violate and sell services that violate the TOS are deleted.

Furthermore, he explained the monthly subscription fee to increase the Google Drive quota to 2 TB of IDR 270 thousand. Costs will increase along with the increasing quota.

Meanwhile, many advertisements contain quotas bids at unreasonable prices. Some even offer unlimited quota and can be enjoyed for life.

"That is the advertisement that is often found on Indonesian e-commerce sites. The price is not very expensive, only paying IDR 100,000 can get it," Alfons concluded.
